Prayer for My Children

My Life Quest: To love and serve God and my fellow human beings... by treating others as I would like others to treat my children.

I’ve lived my life—its ups and downs; and now, my children’s time has come.

Three generations of my offspring face this life...so filled with toil and endless strife.

Each one must step forth in this world; and life’s raw slate, each must unfurl.

Each one must make the choice of good or evil deeds, based on the creed each heart perceives.

I pray, Dear Lord, they’ll heed Your Word and trust in You, in spite of whom all others serve;

I pray the Counselor You sent will be their Friend until the end;

I pray Your Angels will encamp around their hearts and form a hedge

to keep them safe, secure, protected...

from the demons’ threatening surge.

I pray Your brilliant light will guide them, Lord, by day, as well as night…

and that they’ll always be Your servants,

despite challenges and plights.

And when our work on earth is over, Lord, I pray You’ll take us Home

where we’ll all join You forever on Your peaceful, shining shore.

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
