America’s Ruthless Sins Against Blacks...

America's history of racism and bigotry against its black citizens is very well documented.  It’s difficult to imagine how a nation can allow itself to descend to this level of iniquity, inequity and injustice.  However, it has happened quite easily in America.  This nation has spent centuries exploiting poor people, especially blacks. 

In a nation that touted freedom, liberty, and justice for all, blacks were enslaved  almost 400 years—a period in which blacks were required to be totally subservience to whites,  a period when the entire livelihoods of millions of human beings were stolen from them and the lucrative rewards of their labor, given entirely to whites.

In addition to this extremely long period of physical slavery, the entire American value system was based on the absolutely false premise of white superiority/black inferiority during the era of slavery and for at least another 100 years afterwards.  This incredibly wicked  and blatantly inaccurate ideology literally created a deadly cancer in the moral structure of America. 

Groundless Torture and Terroristic Treatment of Blacks...

Ultimately, America systemically created an atmosphere of sheer hatred and relentless resentment against blacks.  This bitterness has been accompanied by vicious, brutal and outrageously horrific treatment against blacks.

During slavery, blacks were whipped, lashed, and beaten relentlessly with virtually no or with very minor provocation.  Hanging of black men was a common practice, which was actually relished and encouraged by most whites.  The entire white community would attend public hangings of blacks and actually cheer at the horrendous torture of black hanging victims.

 Black women were also tortured.  They, too, were beaten and were constant victims of rape by white men and adolescent boys.  Little black girls were also frequently raped. These rapes were not even considered crimes, because of the prevailing ideology of black degradation and inferiority.  Whites established a law that mandated that if a person possessed one drop of black blood, that person was legally black.  Therefore, children who resulted from these rapes were considered black.

Inhumane Living Conditions for Blacks...

During slavery, living conditions for blacks were virtually the same as those for cattle and other livestock.  Blacks lived in barn-like shacks with dirt for floors, holes for windows, and scraps of hole-splattered pieces of tin for roofs.  Their clothing were mere scraps...whatever their white slave owners could find to cover their bodies.  Their food consisted of left-over from the tables of whites...mere slop.

After slavery, the living conditions of blacks often deteriorated to an even lower level, because whites refused to give blacks even a semblance of equality and justice.  In order to survive, blacks had to work relentlessly to feed, house and clothe their families. 

I grew up during the pre-Civil Rights era—the 50’s and 60’s; and I recall  abject poverty within the black community in the midst of vast prosperity among whites.  It was the norm for entire black families to work in the cotton fields, just in order to survive, while white families lived lives of leisure and comfort.  Generally, only men worked in white families.  Those were incredibly difficult and grossly unfair times.

Today, we can observe the same disparities—the haves and the have nots, strategically divided between whites and blacks....  Of course, the disparities are on an entirely different level now; but it doesn’t take a great deal of analysis to observe the very same hostilities, the same inequities,...same struggle...  all over again.

America’s Deadly Cancer...

The result is America’s current predicament, which has degenerated into a severely venomous, life-threatening cancer..It is now a huge, decaying,  gaping hole of filth and devastation...sheer ugliness... bulging from the belly of America.  It’s as if America has feasted on her hideous regimen of humankind’s inhumanity to humankind for so long that her deadly cancer is now out of control.

America can no longer sustain herself , for she is gravely ill as the result of a self-inflicted cancer that has eaten its way into the very depth of America’s being.  It has reached the stage of manifesting itself as a huge gaping cancer that has become so infected that it has exploded and lies openly exposed in her belly.  It is a huge mass... rotting, festering, stinking...It is atrociously filthy.  All this is openly exposed as America now lies immobile in her hospice care facility.

Although America has always flaunted her greatness and her superior prowess; she now lies flat on her back, totally debilitated as a result of her self-afflicted cancer.

America has destroyed herself with her own greed and wickedness.  She now seeks aid and support from any and everyone who is willing and able to come to her aid.

Is There Hope for America?

Indeed, there is hope for America

Although America has descended to the very bottom of the pit;

          Although she has committed all manner of atrocities against people

Although she has poisoned society so badly that its infection and stench of wickedness is available for the entire world to see;

 Although she now suffers from the degenerative effects of the world’s most destructive cancer;

Although her suffering now is beyond description....

America now lingers in horrible pain and incomparable agony...

Still...America’s suffering does not necessiarily mean that’s this is the end  for her.  Her suffering does not have to be until death.  There is hope; for there is a God of redemption, a God of  understanding, a God who has the power to heal even the most deadly of diseases, a God who forgives and restores...if one is willing to humble one’s self and pray.

 America purports to believe in Almighty God, although it is obvious that there is a vast disconnect between America's actions and her actual beliefs. However, even though America’s history is riddled with such horrendous atrocities, God is still ready, willing and able to forgive and restore this nation to the country she purports to be.

Hopefully, though, during this bleak period of suffering, America will come to her senses and suddenly realize that God doesn’t like ugly.  After all the Bible clearly commands us to “...do unto others as we would have others do unto us.”
