Mykah.....Now Two Years Old!.

Mykah is Alex's older sister--she's two years old and just loves her little brother!  She likes to take care of her baby dolls, and Alex is one of her baby dolls.  She dresses them, changes their pull-ups, washes their faces, rocks them to sleep and feeds them.  She's seen her mama feeding Alex her breast milk, so sometimes she lifts her little top and feeds her baby dolls the very same way!  She's such a compassionate little mom!

Mykah feeds her babies in all kinds of ways.  Her favorite way of feeding them is to put them in the two high chairs that she and Jaxsen use.  She prepares  all kinds of dishes for them--oatmeal, cereal, rice, fruit, veggies...whatever she and Jaxsen eat!  When they're finished eating, she carefully and neatly removes the food from the trays, takes them down from the chairs, and puts them in bed for a nap, always remembering to kiss them and say goodnight.  She's such a sweet little Mom!

Mykah's best friend is Jaxsen, her two-year old cousin.  they really enjoy dancing, singing, preaching, shouting Hallieujah...Amen!!! ...and all kinds of exciting pretend games together,  Jaxsen is a tough little guy--as most boys are; but Mykah LOVES the challenge of learning all the boy games and tricks too.  He's taught her to climb, turn flips and even sneak in the bedroom and play with Grandma's forbidden things, like shoes, jewelry, etc. ...and Mykah just loves it!  She's also taught Jaxsen all of her little girl games too.

Mykah loves to read books and have books read to her.  She has a great attention span for a two-year old.  She listens with excitement and anticipation!  She also asks questions as she carefully observes the pictures.  Her questions reflect the depth of maturity of at least a three or four year old.

Physically, she's maturing really fast!  She just turned two years old; and already, she's wearing a size 4... with no adjustments for width or length.  Her shoe size is 8 or 9, so she's going to be a big girl--Tall...just like her daddy, grandma, Auntie Brandy, Uncle Skully...and practically all her great aunts.  She's going to be a tall, classy, amazingly brilliant woman of God.  This is my prayer.

She still loves to eat...practically all kinds of food; but she especially likes nutritious foods, i.e., salads, fruits, veggies... foods high in nutrients.  ...And she usually cleans her plate and sometimes even asks for more!

Mykah loves being a big sister.  She calls Alex "Brother."  He just loves taking orders from his big sister.  She's bossy too, "Come on, Brother!" she orders him around.  She likes to get down on the floor with him and talk baby talk to Alex.  He acts as if he understands her little "pretense" conversations.  He just laughs and talks and laughs back in total harmony. "I just love  my big sister," he seems to say whole-heartedly!

Alex...

(Scroll down to see Alex...)

My name is Theressa Gunnels Wesley.  I am 66 years old, and my most cherished possession is my family.  My soul mate (my husband) and I have been tremendously blessed with eight children, fifteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.  Imagine that!

Indeed, there is never a dull moment around our home.  We've even been blessed with the wonderful privilege of babysitting for three of them on a regular basis.  Our youngest daughter, Crystal, is in her third year of pharmacy school, so we care for her two-year old and six month old every day.  Also, our youngest son Jameel's wife, Lajarlyn, is a nurse; so we babysit for their two-year old about two days each week.   You will notice that I said "...we have been 'blessed' with the  'privilege' of babysitting...."   Although most people wouldn't consider this a "privilege," we certainly do!  We absolutely LOVE it!

I awaken every morning excited about preparing to spend the day with my little ones.  ...Can't wait 'til they get here!  ...All bouncy, happy, energetic, full of life and love and realness and goodness...Godliness....  They're all wonders to behold!  ...Also, amazingly, they're all exceptionally brilliant--as smart and inquisitive and intellectually alert as can be!  They love to learn, and I love to challenge their little minds with a variety of intellectual pursuits.

Alex...

Alex, our six-month old grandson, has huge...really big dark brown eyes and the prettiest, softest, smoothest, darkest skin you can imagine!   And in the center of both fluffly little cheeks are  cute little dimples that deepen with joy when he laughs...and he loves to laugh!  He's learned to chuckle really loudly now!  He just gets so tickled!!!

...And Alex is so full of energy...and strength!  He's a big little fellow for his age, but he's not fat--just big, strong, muscular...a muscle-bound little baby giant.  He loves to bounce and jump...up and down...up and down...up and down....  You would think he'd over-exert my already-weak 66-year old arms, but he's so strong that he actually does all the work himself.  I just hold his little arms, and he does all the jumping and bouncing himself!  ...And he just laughs!

Alex's little legs are already strong enough to hold his heavy little body in  a standing position.  We predict he'll be walking in another month.  He's been sitting alone for a couple of months...and scooting...almost crawling.  He certainly knows how to maneuver his little body around to get whatever he wants.  He just loves to swiftly flip his little muscular body over...from tummy to back...then from back to tummy...until he makes his way to whatever he's trying to reach.

His first word was "Mama."  I know, most babies say "Da-da" first, but not this little guy.  Alex is a Mama's baby!  ...Absolutely LOVES his Mama.  She's the kind of  mama who would read and talk...really communicate with her babies while they were in her womb; so somehow he was never able to totally get over being separated from his mama, so he sometimes has really bad anxiety attacks when he can't get to her.  He's so attached to his mama that he refuses to take his milk from anything except his mama--he literally gets upset when he's offered a bottle.  ...Acts as if bottles are foriegn objects.  "Get this thing out of my mouth!" he mimicks with a frown and lots of Alex-fussy words when offered a bottle.  Just hearing his mama's voice calms his little spirit.  ...And when he makes eye contact with her, his whole little being perks up!  He actually started saying "Mama" when he was less than a month old.  He loves his Daddy too, but Mama's the center of his joy!

His favorite interactive activity is singing with his Grandpa.  His Grandpa is a terrible singer, but not in Alex's opinion!  Alex could listen to Grandpa sing all day long!  He expecially loves to hear Grandpa sing "K-K-K-Katie."

...And of course, Alex and Grandma have their own special manner of communicating with each other.  It's love, pure love that binds our spirits.  I just love my little Alex honey bun soooo much!

Jaxsen...

Jaxsen is Jameel and Lajarlyn's little two-year old son--another little gem!  He walks in our house every morning and says, "How're you doing today, Momo?"  ....And his little voice never stops for the rest of the day.  He loves to ask questions and explore...explore...explore....

...to be continued...
